I'm trying to test creating a Namespace (accounting) on SRV1 with R2 and SRV2
with R2 also they are the only servers with that version currently.
I'm creating the namespace on SRV1 but if I select Domain-based namespace I
get the following error:

We are using Robocopy on on Windows 2003 servers.  We have 8 Robocopy
processes - yet 10 show up in task manager.
We also find out Robocopy fails occasionally - so we restart it - but
then see multiple robocopy and cmd.exe in the the task manager as

I have a server 2003 and cannot get the update to run.  it fails. I have
uninstalled all .NET and reran installs same error. I used a .NET cleanup
tool and reinstalled same error. I have 10 servers and this is the only one
having trouble.

environment only).
I've tried VMWare, which seems to permanently disable autoplay/autorun.
The system requirements for Virtual PC 2007 don't include Server 2008.

We run 2000 server.  We have a network share that all our users have
Full Control for.  They also have read, write and modify NTFS
permissions.  Why are temp files constantly being created on this
share?  It seems that if someone views a file even if they close it

I want to have a vbscript logon script for domain users. When they login
from client PCs, detect network printers, if it exist, then do nothing, if it
doesn't exist, then add it.

Looking for a quick answer:
I have a client with a Terminal Server with TS licensing installed on
the TS itself. Because the TS is malfunctioning, we are replacing it,
but before doing so we need to install TS Licensing on the domain

Remote Desktop Users group is missing on my server 2003 R2 running SP2... Any
ideas on how to add it (shouldn't this group be available by default?) or
work around the problem. I want to be able to access my server remotely for
maintenance.

When sharing a folder on a Windows 2003 Server, does the location of the
actual folder matter?  
For example:
If the folder called "data" is located on Server named DRSERVER on

Having just installed Windows Server 2008 RTM I was surprised to find
that the O/S already claims to be at Service Pack 1.  A look at System
Properties (right-click on Computer, select Properties -or- Control

I have a root domain 'parent.com'.  I have a child domain
'child.parent.com'.  Lately I've been noticing on my router syslogs
that some of my XP clients on parent.com have been hitting the child
ADC over tcp 389 and 88.  Also, a new E2k3 server I built on

I recently included a computer on a domain.The system already has files and
application installed like microsoft word and access.It was used before as a
stand-alone computer..
My question is, why is that everytime the computer is log-on to the domain
