Domain Local Security vs Global Security vs Universal Security Groups20 Jan 2007 22:54 GMT5
I've read lots on these, and I still don't really understand them.
I know how they work together, how certain ones can't be part of others,
etc.  But I don't really understand how they work, or where and when
to use them.
DC Admin question20 Jan 2007 22:33 GMT10
We've got a DC at a remote site that doubles as the office's file/print
server.  The problem is that we need to allow our local IT contact to manage
user shares, setup printers, etc, but we're not sure how to give him logon
rights without making him a domain admin.

Unable to apply patches18 Jan 2007 15:11 GMT1
I regularly apply the MSyy-xxx patches to about 50 servers.
2 of them (a w2k sp4 and a w2003 sp1) don't apply the patches. Weird thing
is that there is no message at all, nothing in logs neither. It behaves
exactly as if the patches were applied.
