Hey guys need some help! Not sure what broke, but my parent domain can no
longer ping its child domain.
If I ping (from any server including parent DCs) servername.child.parent.com
I get a response. I can even ping DC.child.parent.com.

We have a blog at companyname.blogspot.com and our web host service has set
up or public dns so blog.companyname.com forwards to it.  I'm trying to get
that to happen internally, the domain is companyname.com.  I tried an alias
record for blog pointing to companyname.blogspot.com ...

I recently renamed a workstation and changed its static IP address.  I
deleted the old workstation name in ADUC but can't delete it from the DNS
forward lookup zone...... why?  I tried clearing the cache but still no luck.

I have the following problem. I have added a NAS to our network and
created a DHCP reservation for it. Now, I see under DNS two PTR records
with the same IP address but different host names. One host is the
network computer and another is NAS.

I'm working on installing DNS on a system running Windows 2003 R2 x64 sp2.  
It asks me to direct it to work the wdnsperf.dll file is so it can install
it.  I don't see this file in the x64 install CD.  And I don't see this file
sitting on my other x64 DNS servers.  Can anyone ...

I am at my remote site here and i have configured two new ADCs with
integrated ActiveDirectory DNS,besides this we were having one old AD
with same setting for AD and DNS,now we have purchased brand new

If I Map a drive from Windows XP on a domain, as in:
   Net Use Q: \\Nt4SrvName\ShareName
I get a System error 2221. The user name could not be found.
But if I do the same thing with an IP address, such as:

I am using DNS method to host "wpad" on a Windows Server 2008 Active
Directory server, "wpad" is mapped to a valid ip address on a web server but
when I ping "wpad" from server itself or from a workstation, it said "cannot

I have many windows host bot xp por and vista bus that receive dns via dchp
some of the machine can resolve a host NAS called MARS in windows explorer
