I check the DNS server and found out one host (server) with two different
static IPs as:
server1  192.168.2.3
server1  192.168.2.100

I have two Windows Server 2003 DCs that run DNS.  
I have noticed a bunch of "stale" DNS records (old machine names with an IP
address the conflicts with another machine name using that same IP address).

I'm currently in the process of setting up a new domain, my primary DNS/DC
server is using subnet 192.168.1.xxx and I then have a 2nd subnet on
192.168.7.xxx.  Both sides can quite happily ping each other no problem at

I am seeing that our server DNS event logs are filling up and it we have
constant 5504 and 3000 event IDs every 2 minutes. I have checked out and
googled everything about this event log and could not find a proper

Ok so DNS was easy on Server 2003, i think it did it as part of AD setup and
i didn't really do anything
On Server 2008 i can't make it work, can anyone suggest a decent free

One of our sites will have a different range of IP addresses. In that site

I have a windows 2003 server active directory with 3 DCs being also DNS

Dear,
My server is not saving the logs as it gives the msg " Unable to complete
the operation on "DS Events" The file size exceeds the limit allowed and
cannot be saved.

We have Windows Server 2003 AD Integrated DNS/DHCP.
DHCP is overwriting the static DNS entry.
I am worried if someone could rename there machines to mail server or ftp server name, and then the dhcp would overwrite that entry in dns and no body will be able to access the e-mail or ...
