yesterday was the my first time using dnscmd and I was successful
setting up a new server where all the zones are secondaries. Yeah.
However I was trying to set up the primaries to add the new

One of my co-workers pointed out to me that our DNS server maybe doing
something wrong when attempting to forward request to the IP address we have

Hi all.  Hope you're enjoying the holiday season.  K here is my issue.  This
started about a week ago.  I went to do my critical updates and was signed on
as the Administrator of the AD domain.  When I tried to get out to the
internet it just errors out (can't connect, DNS, etc.. ...

I ran "adprep /forestprep" on the Schema Operation Master (W2K DC), and
"adprep /domainprep /gpprep" on the Infrastructure Master (W2K DC).  I

I have just set-up a new W2K3 server and made it the domain controller.  It
has 2NICs, one set to the internal NIC, with IP scope 192.168.0.x /
255.255.255.0, the external NIC connected to our Cisco PIX as 192.168.2.10.  
The PIX then connects to the internet.

Our old domain controller was server05. It is now defunct. Our new
controller server07 seized all roles except directory services. It
couldn't seize that one. Now when I go to add a new system it tells me

I have setup my remote office with permanent VPN connection. I deployed a
Windows 2003 server as a DC. All clients are logging in locally to that
server. I have DNS installed on that box and talking to the Corporate domain.
All corporate traffic is going over the VPN Link. ...

I have added a 3rd 2003 AD/DNS server to our domain, with the intent of
removing one.  AD and DNS seem to be replicating OK - no errors.  I was going

I checked my task manager on windows 2003 server and it keep showing me that
inetinfo.exe is taking 25%.
How do I get it to 1 or 2%?
Accessing and logging in is  very slow too.
