DNS Server priority in NIC settings31 Jan 2006 16:00 GMT1
There is some debate in my department over how a client searches for a record
among DNS servers. If you have two DNS servers configured on a NIC (primary
and secondary) will the client query both servers for a record? Or will it
only query the first server it makes contact with.

DNS and black lists31 Jan 2006 10:45 GMT1
I don't know if it's the good place but my Exchange server seemed to be
listed at the SORBS black lists for 2 reasons and I think that the first
reason is caused by the DNS servers :
- dnsbl.sorbs.net : Aggregate zone (contains all DNS zones)
Using Stub zones for child domains.31 Jan 2006 01:56 GMT2
I was on the phone with MS support the other day trying to resolve some
replication issues that we were (and still are!) having.  They told me that
the cause of my problem was the fact that we are using stubzones for our
child domains instead of delegated zones.  Is this really ...

dns.exe keeps taking port 1090 (I need it for jboss!) help!30 Jan 2006 20:11 GMT1
dns.exe, often on system startup and sometimes afterwards when I restart a
service that uses port 1099 (jboss), will take and hold port 1099, not
allowing any other daemon to bind as a listenting process on this port.
Is there any way to change this behavior?

Just want to validate with you guys that I believe I need to ask to open high
ports (>1024), in addition TCP/UDP 53, as DNS initial queries generally using
the high ports..thanks!
