My situation:
1 Windows 2003 Server (DNS) + client pc's
1 Linux server (also DNS server)(DHCP for other devices on network)
All my client pc's are configured with a static ip-address, they use

Can someone tell me what I am missing. Windows 2000 Server - authoritative
for our reverse zone. Forward zone working fine but when run a reverse
lookup, sez my server cannot find pointer record for that IP....and I can
assuere you the entry is in the reverse zone.

I asked once before in different NGs, but the answers went off on a
tangent.
Sometimes, when you use a URL that includes WWW, you'll get the page,
but if you omit the WWW, you get nothing.

Something seems amiss with my DNS servers.
 First of all, DHCP does not seem to be properly updating DNS records.  The
PTR records in the reverse lookup zone are correct, but the A records are
not.  I have a couple of laptops that travel between WAN sites (each has

I have a public DNS on my test server(2003), which has a PPPOE dialup
configured. The problem is if the ISP trips out my server reconnects
automaticaly but the DNS service is no longer bound to the Internet
connection and I have to restart the service to get it to re-bind. It is

I have 2 servers win2k3 sp1 with 2 net cards. server A has a net card with
external ip, shared for internet access, the 2nd card  with internal ip. both
servers A & B are DCs. when i try to ping my server A by name it gives me the

According to my microsoft MOC. If you use an illegal character, it gets
