Our companies domainname is lets say "wp.wp-partners.nl" our website is "www.wp-partners.nl" In my DNS server in the cached lookups under NL I get WP and under WP I get my local machine names with the external website address.

Please bear with me as I struggle to explain why I think I have a DNS problem. I'll start with some background first. Our DNS servers are Windows 2003 server. One of the DNS servers was upgraded from Windows 2000 the other was a native install of Windows 2003.

I got a strange problem on a migration test lab : We got 1 root domain and 3 child domain (native Windows 2000) DNS zone are forwarded to a Windows 2000 DNS that serves test lab and production as well (integrated zones, forwarder ok)

I just took over a network where a developer set the sub-domain, metal.domain.com to a private IP address, 192.168.9.99 on a public DNS server he controls. Now I have to take over the domain and bring it home to the corporation.
