DCpromo issue
I have been having a bit of a problem getting DCpromo to install on two Dell
Power Edge 2900 servers.
Both servers are running Windows 2003 SR2 and have had all of the dell

I have my GP working to set folder redirection but there are some problems
with it.  It could be that "this is how it is" but I hope not as the current
behavior is flawed.
1)  Why is there still a local copy of My Documents on the workstations?  I

Due to company policy to enable backup via a secondary network card, there
are 2 NIC on domain controllers. But i need to stop DNS registration on the
secondary network card, i've tried the solution on
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/246804 but it's not working.

I have one RDC & ADC in my forest in my lab for testing enviornment,
everything works fines. i have one small query regarding replication. After
let say 2days i started observing that when i start replicating DC manually
without modifying any object or changes in the AD. Still ...

I am a part time admin for my company, I have one employee right now but
expect that to change soon ;0)
I'm no pro, I know enough to hopefully keep things pretty safe, etc, etc.
We have Server 2003 with XP Pro clients.

Consider this:
I have a SOHO on a Windows 2003 domain with a dozen or so
workstations.  My wife and I are domain admins, but the other users
are not.  Our screensavers lock the PCs, as do we when we walk away

I am trying to figure out how to do this
I want to attract the usernames out of a global group and then export them
to a text file.  I am close but just cant get the command line exactly right
Anyone help me out, I just want to have a list of usernames... none of that

when a new user starts or moves to a different pc, I have to run the outlook
account setup on that pc, map the printers from AD, let ie7 do its run once
setup, etc.,,
This tedious(esp. when users change desks) and wondering why this user setup

I have an OU in AD for external contacts.  I've delegated control to a
member of my department which is fine.  They are able to now create
new Contacts and edit existing Contacts.  However, if I want to edit
any Exchange attributes the user is not authorized.

    I am planning to split my network into two subnets 10.0.0.0 and

I changed the name of a Windows XP machine.  After reboot I can no longer
logon to the domain server.  The computer shows up in AD, but can't logon.  I
can use my credentials on any other machine so I know it isn't the user
account.  I tried removing the computer from the domain ...
