Is there a way to get around re-setting up the user profile when you join a new computer into a domain. I have several hundred computers that will be brought into a new domain and I dont want to have to migrate every users data to a new xp profile. Any advice would be helpful

Can one help me how to restore Active directory from a backup on a different hardrwae , i have tried once by restoring the system state of source(w3K server) to newaly installed Win 3K server, but no luck as windows does not strat, Is there any specfic workaround.

I have justed added a new domain controller within a new domain at a remote branch. When the WAN link goes down no one in that branch is able to logon to their computers. I have checked out the DNS information and the computers are using the domain controller in that location for ...

We'r erunnind 2003 AD server and XP clients. One of the user's account frequently gets locked out. He has to call help desk often to unlock it and it would take him 30-40 mins to log back in. Any solutions? Thanks

About as often as not, when I try to migrate a computer (NT, 2K or XP), the migration agent install fails with an error pertaining to the RPC server. Any ideas on why? We haven't deliberately removed RPC from any computers. Thanks in advance!
