Multibooting with Windows XP/2000 Server Problem25 Feb 2006 16:29 GMT1
Hi, I installed XP on a machine,(C driver) then,
I tried to install 2000 Server over XP. The XP did not allow to install NT
Server, as it is an older version. So I have to install NT directely from
start on the NT CD. The NT installation (on driver D) was successful, but

I'm new to NT 4.
I am aware that NT4 has a 4GB install limitation.
I have a 40GB hard drive on a test server and installed SBS Backoffice 4.5
which includes NT4, using a partition size of 4GB for the install. Obviously,

I have found very limited first-hand information on the net about  
installing/running  NT 4.0 on the relatively new system. I can report some  
success and I hope, the information isn't redundant.
My old configuration was:

Question:
1. How can I transfer the SAM & shares from one NT 4.0 Server to a different
NT 4.0 server hardware, when the new hardware is not on the network?

  I have Netfinity server 5600 with 4 SCSI disk. I want to format the
SCSI disc and install NT again. How do i go ahead.

I had the mis-fortune of dealing devices not natively supported by NT 4.
how would one find conflicting resources and free IRQ, memory address to
configure a network device on NT 4 SP4 or 5?
In Winnt or XP, one can look at system info, or sys mgmt device manager.  In

I put in a battery into my NT40 server after having error saying CMOS
Battery Failed, loading defaults, Press F1, etc.
It continued to have same error, so I figured that battery was weak,

I put in a new 10/100 NIC card in my NT4.0 server and when restarting,
I get a continual hang on "Updating ESCD"......  
What happened, and what can I do to get by or fix the problem?
Any suggestions are welcomed BIGTIME!

  I ave problems with installation WinNT40 on xSeries226 IBM server
....    After booting with WinNT40 CD everything goes fine (loading
drivers) but   after a wile I got verical lines on my screen and nothing
goes on after that....
