I have a server with software-mirrored
drives (using the Windows Disk Administrator).  Yesterday it suddenly
shutdown and would not boot back up.  It would start to load Windows and get
as far as the blue screen that shows the NT version at the top but then

How should SP6a be installed on NTServer? Can you just run the setup with
the current services running? Are there any "gotchas" going from 4 or 5 to
6a or is the installation of SP6a pretty straightforward? My concern is with
the current apps and any drivers that may be replaced.

I have downloaded the full Service Pack 6a with 128 bit
encryption from the Microsoft site (sp6i386.exe  34.5MB).  
When I try to run this file which is supposed to be a self
extracting file an error messege box says it is not a

Hi I'm kind of a newbie here, but I'm trying to boot my an NT pc and just as
it loads winnt.exe it gives the message that the 'Computer is safe to
shutdown'.  Any clues on what's going on?  I've tried booting in safe mode,

I cannot install NT 4.0 on a 3 Ghz Pentium 4.
The machine is a 3Ghz Pentium 4 on an Intel BF865GBF motherboard with 1Ghz

  What products do you use so that i can move an existing NT4 OS & data to
