We have an nt dns server which started to continuously query the root servers. This obviously results in a lot of bandwidth which we believe is not necessary. We don't know what caused this problem but it has been going on for a week

I have a DNS Server with a zone named aaa.bbb.pt The machine which is hosting the DNS Server in its ip dns configuration is pointing to itself (DNS Server : 192.168.2.1).

My NT DHCP would give out IP to Windows clients. Is there a way to update DNS to associate each IP with a hostname.mydomain.com where hostname is the same as the NetBIOS name of the Windows client? Regards,
