I run two nameservers on NT 4.0 using the built-in Microsoft DNS to support
my web hosting of multiple sites, and mail server. I never bothered to have
my ISP delegate reverse DNS to my nameservers, however over the past few
days AOL has blocked my servers because there was not rdns ...

when I try to make my 2003 server a bdc on my nt4 network
I get an error "dns cannot resolve domain name.  What do I
do to make a 2003 server a bdc on a nt4 network??

I am fairly new to this so bear with me ... I have set up
a NT4.0 sp6a server to be my dns server.  All pc's on the
network browse all .com sites but some of the .org sites
do not come up ... are there settings I can make to get

I was trying to install a DNS server, but when i tried to
add the Microsoft DNS server in the services panel, te
option to select it doesn't appear. Can you tell me how to
install the DNS server in this case?, or what can i do in

I am on Win XP.  So why does the system keep shutting
down after I get the message: "Initiated by NT

We´re trying to work with a W2k DNS Server on our NT Domain, but it
works only for internet, not for our intranet.
We put our ISP DNS on Forwarders Tab, and our Intranet DNS on

What does this mean:
The servermfs.com version 1047 is newer than a version 69
on DNS server at .  The zone is not updated.  DNS servers
supplying for transfer must have most rescent version of

Hi, I have an internal DNS(single primary, no zone
transfers)and caching, hub-spoke WINS, primarily NT sp6, a
few 2k servers.  Any recommendations for flushing DNS
server and downstream client . . . refresh?
