My website is currently on a unix-based web server, and using progressive
download to stream my .wmv videos. I'm also using .asx files for playlist.
Assumming that Windows Media Services 9 Series has already been installed,
how easy is it to get my videos streaming right away when ...

I'm running the media service behind NAT, and have pointed port 1755 to my
server. On my lan I can watch the demo-movies supplied with the media
service, but from the internet I get a 'file-not-found' error. When I look at
the announce url of the demo movies, I see that it shares ...

Again, this may seem overly simple but please hear me out.
Why should I use ASX files to publish announcements to my media?
Isn't it just as simple as using
mms://myserver/publishingpointname/filename.wmv?

well i have had a real shiter and i mean a real fu*ker,i work in a joiners
shop,work with wood working machines and about 9.15 this morning when i was
cutting some wooden wedges, stupid tw*t  i am still half a sleep, caught my
thumb on the circular blade thats doin about 800mph ...

I have not found any discussion in this forum or in the Server docs about
updating on demand content (specifically .wmv files with video and audio, asf
format). That is suppose I have an on demand file "cheese.wmv" which I then
want to overwrite with an updated file "cheese.wmv".

I am i need of a script that will set a publishing point to "Deny new
Connections".
I have a script that will start and stop and even change the source. but i
cannot figure out how to do it to deny connections..

Hi, annyone know if there is anny information avboute the WMS on Longhorn?

I've been writing a small app for WMS9 that goes through my publishing points
gathering information.  One of the critical pieces of info I want to get is the
multicast IP address and port that's configured in the multicast streaming
plugin under Properties for the publishing point.  ...

I want to setup a server for Windows Media Server and IIS. We will be
delivering live broadcasts to approximately 50 concurrent users over the
Internet. Which license will provide me with most bang for my buck? Is
Enterprise too much for what I need?

I have a big problem!
I want to build smart publishing points. When the server receive a play
request from the client, I want to add my own actions before the server
takes relative behaviors.

My router tecnican want me to change packet size to below 1500 on my
multicast server (win2003)

How can I limit the number of connections to the live encoder to 1 or 2?
