Windows media server 9 will give a live count of connected unicast
clients- is there anyway of collecting the same data for multicast clients?

I want to set up an encoder to push the stream to a windows media server.
Since the server also is a webserver, I can't use port 80 for pushing my
content. Now, how do I implement this on both sites?

I'm able to stream single-bitrate streams over HTTP (port 8080) using the
Windows Media component of Windows 2000 server.  However, as soon as I encode
a file using a multi-bitrate, the streaming doesn't work (I get the dreaded
"Windows Media Player cannot play the file" error).  ...

I have windows media services installed on my computer with IIS.
I can connect on my local machine, but I can't connect over the internet.  I
keep getting a message "0xC00D1198: Cannot connect to the server".
I checked my network settings and everything seems to be fine.

I have kept getting same error messages from the simulation program, even
though i put WMLOAD.asf under the systemdrive\wmroot, or wmroot that's under
Intpub. i will always get Sever Access Denied code 0x0000

Windows media serves does not automatically restart when the source stream
is re-acquired.  Anybody know how to make sure that WMS automatically
restarts
when a feed is restarted.

With a Win2003 server on a 10Mbps connection, how many client connections to
a live stream can be expected before overload.  What should the max client
number be set too?
The feed would be a live 35kbps .wma file, unicast.

Is there anyway i can start and stop a publishing point in the windows
media services through code ?? Either in VB.NET or C# ??
