We use domain-level group policy.  In a support call, Microsoft has told me
that my gpo is not being applied correctly to at least some objects because
there are unresolved SIDs in the policy.

Do most of you separate your computer and user objects in Active Directory
into separate OUs?  In other words, you may have a top-level OU called
"Production Computers" and another one called  "Production Users" and inside

I'm of the belief that you shouldn't leave computers inside the default
Computers container because you can't apply Group Policy to that other than
the "Default Domain Policy".  Is this correct?

We have setup a software installation GPO that's filtered by security
groups and it has been working fine on all previous PCs.
We have now added one of the domain controllers to this group via
