Iv been trying to upgrade to XP Pro from Windows 2000 and during the

set up asks for a file "viaide.sys" what is this file and whats it suppost to

How can I tell if a Windows 2000 system is at Service Pack 4 level?
If I run Windows Update, Service Pack 4 does not appear among the list
of updates already installed.  But it does not prompt me to install it,
either, so I infer that SP4 may have been installed by another means,

Standard edition with SP4 already applied, i've encountered an strange
server's behaviour, i'm going to describe. After post-update reboot, i can't
display some shell folders (Control Panel, Network Connections, ...
