I wish to upgrade my existing system (windows 98SE) to windows 2000
Professional.But i also have installed Office XP and Autocad 2000 on my
system. So when I install windows 2000 will I have to reinstall other
applications too?

I upgraded to windows 2000 from windows ME.  i am having TONS of problems,
including resolution problems.  also, my CDROM drive wont recognize any CDs.  
this is just the tip of the iceberg.  any suggestions greatly appreciated.

I have a client that is upgrading from Windows 2000 servers to Windows 2003.  
He is licensed based on a per seat.  Since he is going from 2000 to 2003,
does he have to upgrade the CAL's as well as the serer?  Any assistance would

I'm trying to upgrade from NT 4, and am meeting with no success.
Here's what I've done so far:
In NT, I uninstalled everything that might not work with W2K (Easy CD,
video drivers, winpcap, scanner software). Put in the W2K CD, it copied

driver without A) a floppy, or B) having an existing win installation?

of them at once.  It appeared that all 13 updates completed successfully.  
However, when I turned off then on the computer and ran the Windows Critital

I have Windows 2K Pro as drive "C" on disk 0 part 1
Can I specify the CD-Rom as "D" and Server as drive "E"?

I have Windows NT workstation 4.0 installed on my home PC (got it from my
last place of work). The HD is using FAT not NTFS and has three partitions -
of which Drive C is the system partition where NT is installed.
I am having problems and have decided to just repalce NT with Win98 ...

Can I reinstall Windows 2003 server over the existing
installation without loosing the AD info and network
shares?  I had virus trouble and am afraid that reloading

I have 2 Windows 2000 domains: domain1 and domain2.
If I want to migrate a DC in domain1 to become a DC in domain2, can I use
ADMT to do this job, or I have to dcpromo it to a member server, join it to
