KB832483 refuses to install.  Then Windows Automatic Update pops up announcing
an update is ready to install, but  KB832483 refuses to install without error.
The loop continues forever.

I have Windows 2000 server sp4 . I installed the new update 925902.
After this I have all kinds of problems, not able to open control panel,
gives a dll error, same thing with opening Visual Studio .net 2003 gives a
"DTE.olb could not be loaded". I have tried to uninstall 925902 ...

I am running Win2000, SP4 on a system with NTFS and only scsi HDD, using
Adaptec 29160 HDD controller. I can boot normally into windows but over time
a few issues have arised so I need to reinstall a fresh copy of Win2000 on
top to refresh the setup.

I'm running a Windows 2000 Server (SP4) as a standalone fileserver.
I've had the windows updates on "Automatic" for years without problem.
A few days ago though, it installed the KB925902 update, which is
described as "Critical".  Unfortunately, when it tries to reboot after

 I use Mozilla Firefox as my default browser. Every time MS sends out
an update (including IE)it automatically sets IE as default browser.
Even though I then set Firefox as default when I open it, the update
causes IE to open when I click a html link in email.
