I have recently reinstalled Windows2000 I have Service Pack 4 on my machine. I have good anti virus and firewall installed. I have totally disabled Windows Update.

I only have a dos remote access to my server. Can i do windows update or install hotfix in dos mode ? Or problably install a better remote access in dos. Any help or advice appreciated.

I'm assuming the folders under WINNT that look like $NtUninstallKB823559$ are unistall folders for the Microsoft system updates. Is there any reason to keep them after the install? If I have no intention of uninstalling the system updates, is there any
