The SP1 update for windows 2003 server failed. We are trying to reinstall sp1 again but we are receiving the the error message "Failed to install catalog files when applying Windows 2003 sp1" Is someone could suggest a way to force the installation?

I am trying to upgrade from Win98SE to Win2k. I selected the recommended "upgrade" rather than the new (clean) installation. During the "Perforing Final Tasks" it get stuck at the "Upgrades program and system settings". It gets part of the way through and then reboots

After upgrading to SP4, running all the Windows Updates (over 45 critical), the START button continually blinks. Very annoying. User does not want to "hide" the bar.
