I'm using Windows 2000 SP1
When I go to the control panel I can't find the icon Automatic Updates to
change my settings. I'm connected the update program will automatically
start but I want that the program notice me before he updates.

I have WUS server installed and syncronized and about 30
clients set to update from it at various times throughout
the weekend. The windowsupdatelogs seem to show that the
clients successfully connect to the WUS server, but they

screen on reboot. Can't boot from CD to Repair or do new install - get blue

I try to install win2000 over my computer with win98 OS. I
initially took the recommended option - choose update
option. It completed, but it can not do an internet update
from microsoft web page. It shows "it can not connect to

I have a test box set up to run WUS and I've noticed a couple of
peculiarities...  Being intent on disallowing Windows XP SP2 deployment, I
looked through the database and it wasn't there... Interesting...
I now can't make the box synchronize.   It seems to go through the entire

Once we approve the updates, patches get pushed to all
computers in the ADS domain. I would like to know instead
of pushing the updates to all machines in the domain, i
would like to push to specific ADS groups.

We have a nos. of Win2K professional installed in our office which
connecting to a Novell 4 server.  We have run the "Windows Update" to update
all the hotfix to our Win2K recently, but after this, when we tried to

We have several DOS based applications running on our Win2K machines.  After
instaling 840987, we have noticed many problems with the applications.  When
trying to remove the update, we ar told that other updates will be removed
as well.  Has anyone else seen this?

I cannot install service pack 4 on W2K. I get the error:
wininet.dll is open or in use in another application
I closed down every application and process I could but I still get
the error. Any ideas as to what I could try?

I'm always trying to intall this update.
I think the files already have the correct version but it stills wanting to
update. When i try using the WU web page i receive the error "No Updates
Were Installed".

Every time I try to install KB823353 I get an error saying that msoeres.dll
does not have a digital certificate.  I have two other W2KPro systems and
this Critical Update is installed.
Does anyone know why this happens?

I was running norton's "speed disk" to degrag the C drive, when it stopped
and said "run chkdsk/r".
How do I get a msdos command line on win2000 to run chkdsk?  Or is there
