I hope someone can help. I received automatic notification
that there were updates from microsoft(patches, I think)
that I should down load and install. These updates were
numbered KB837009,1167,7001, 8741, 5732. I have done this

i need to get service pack 4 but have no internet
connection - I tried to do it from a floppy but it told be
to get support from mirosoft and I can't find any way of
doing it without being connected

I installed SP4 using automatic updates, on my PII 350
with 384 mb of ram, and when I try to use any site that
needs java (eg Pogo), or I try to install the next
security updates, which include VM updates, I get the

Test SUS on test member server and worked great.
Now have installed SUS server onto live member server and
I am unable to connect to admin page.
Same settings as test member server.

We all know here ... after the fact ... about the problems with the
KB835732 update from hell.  But I'm wondering why there has been no
mention of this very costly and widespread problem in the tech rags?

I have my original w2k disk and an sp4 disk.
BUT, I don't have a disk/backup of the 20 to 30

My SUS is installed and working just fine. Every now and
then when new updates are available, I see the
notification icon of new updates, (if I wait, it will
install automatically at the schedueled time then restart

I am trying to regroup from an attack by a browser hijacker (the
"Searchx" variant of CoolWebSearch.  I need to install the

I saw that the last notification I received from Microsoft about
uploading KB835732 was dated 4/21 and I think the first reference to it
was 4/13 or 4/14. Has anyone who got messed up by implementing the

Brand new install W2K Pro , trying to run windows update
and update.exe has caused my CPU to peg out at 100%, I
have searched the Newsgroups and Microsoft, Technet etc

When I connect to Windows Update, it cannot verify the
certificate.  It says it's valid from 2002-05-25 to 2003-
11-25.  Why is the certificate too old?
