Does anyone know why DirectX 9.0 would come up as a
critical update through Windows Update? I'm running
Windows 2000. I'm not clear what version of DirectX I'm

My problem, I have a P4 1.6 with all Pentium hardware.
I am having a terrible time with my puter recognizing my floppy, my cdrom
amd my cd burner drives (d,e,& f drives).
The master/slave settings are correct. The puter just takes forever to

I have been trying to install Windows 2K SP4 on one of my
remote servers and every time I do I get a message that
another service is using the dll.  I've shut down all the
services that I can on the machine (I'm remotely

I have a computer at home that conecte to the wed via a
56kb phone line. Windows up dates take forever. I there a
nother way for me to get these updates? Can I get them on
CD or download on a faster connection and copy to CD for
