I need to connect SQL server to a remote machine. We got 2 options either to
connect it thru a firewall ( allowing only our server ip and the specific
PORT) or VPN. Can anyone tell me which is the better one ? What are the adv
of each of these ? I am very new to this area?

I have started noticing Event ID:10002 showing up on one of my servers when
it is rebooted. The description is as follows:
Access denied attempting to launch a DCOM Server. The server is:

I've setup the "Enable TCP/IP filtering" on my W2K box to only permit IP
Protocols 6 & 17. However my Sygate firewall is still logging incoming
ICMP... why would that be the case ?

I have a Dell inspiron 8000 laptop with windows 2000 system. I cannot
login as the ctrl-alt-delete key does not work even I reboot the pc in
safe mode. The key only works once if I take the laptop to a new place.
