We have this weird occurance we have been trying to figure out recently.
Every few days, we will have a record from DNS reverse zone (which is AD
Integrated) disappear.The record that disappears is a Domain Controller.
The forward record stays. Only the Reverse will disappear.

I could do with some help regarding DNS!
We have 12 offices each on their own domain (192.168.1.0,192.168.2.0, etc)
These offices are connected via vpn links. There is a server at each office

i try to make my own DNS "server". i'm working on a local network (not
connected to the internet) kind of intranet.
i have one computer that runs mfc application that uses the function
getipbyname (windows os function) and shows the ip from a given name.

I have a domain name and a static IP. Right now, I simply forward the
domain's requests to the IP.

We have a small problem. Our primary DC and DNS server went down
along with the secondary DNS server. Now, when I go into the DNS Snap
In tool and try to add it (have complete connectivity), it failes and

Is there any reason why you would not want to AD integrate a DNS zone that is
not associated with an Active Directory domain. I know it can be done, are
there any issues associated with doing it or reasons why you might not want
to do this?

I have a firewall logger program that show me traffic coming in and

it began when workstations were unable to make automatic update , i check and
i found that IE or firefox makes dns error on access to update.microsoft.com
and support.microsft.com, i made an nslookup test on update and support , all
is ok both are resolved with their cname and ip ...

I have been trying to stop event ID 5504 from coming up. I have cleared the
cache, installed a hotfix, tried stopping the IP address at the firewall, and
a few other things. They just keep coming. Anything else I can do to get them
to stop?
