Final steps in RAS wizard do not complete31 Mar 2005 21:17 GMT1
This is a new installation of SBS Server 2003 Premium and I'm working
through the To Do List. All has gone well so far, including the step to
update. Those updates included SP1.
At Configure Remote Access, though, the process doesn't complete. I'm

When I run the netdiag /v /l /test:dns command on my Dc which has Active
Directory Integrated  DNS Installed the command passes successfully but I
also have a concern that it lists a server which is non existant on my
network. This is a part of the output.

Domain with 2 Windows 2003 Server Standard servers.

I have the following problem:
I have an AD domain named 'abc.xyz.com'.  I have a linux box running a
webserver with the same name 'abc.xyz.com' which is registered publicly
to resolve to say 10.1.1.100.

When creating a zone in DNS and the wizard asks for the name of the zone,
should I type mydnsserver.mydomain.com or just mydomain.com? thanks

I have recently been having problems with my XP machines joing my new domain.
After some research I found that the problem was DNS.  My DHCP server was
pushing four DNS servers to the client...2 of these were AD servers and 2
were NT 4 servers.  I finally found a random article ...

I noticed that SBS 2000 is not set to scavenge records by default.  Because
of this, there are some DNS records in the DNS console that are from
workstations that do not exist, or have been renamed.
Is it a good idea to enable scavenging?  I do not understand why it would be

I've been beating my head against the wall trying to figure out what I'm
missing.
I'm running DNS on Windows 2003.  I've got everything working EXCEPT,
whenever I run dnsreports.com, I fail the checkup for Reverse DNS entries for

The zone transfer tab in DNS, is it for standard primary zone or for AD
integrated zone  ? Does AD zone needs it, as i know AD zone will
propogate to all AD dns automatically , right  ? Pls advise, thanks

I have a W2k3 standard webserver to host email and domains only.
As I understand it, for security best practice I should not join this
box to my local active directory environment.
But everytime I boot my computer I get a 414 error in my DNS
