I am troubleshooting Win2000 servers that periodically become frozen and unresponsive. On the console, you can see the blue Windows background in the shell and the mouse cursor works, but neither Explorer nor the Gina appear.

Is there a way to get the actual number of processors whithout using 3rd party software or opening the box? Processors using hypertheat-technology fake my normal count procedures. Any help is welcome.

When I restore all of the files in the tasks folder, nothing shows up in the windows tasks (or explorer's view of c:\winnt\tasks) But when I c:>dir from cmd, I can see the *.job files. What gives? How do I backup and restore the windows scheduled tasks??! (this is for disaster

I have Windows 2000 Pro and WinXP clients. Here I found that the logon script sometimes (not always) doesn't run with the WinXP PCs, but the logon script is always alright with the Win2000 Pro PCs.
