We have Windows 2000. The server was set so that the registered domain name (company.com) is the same as the local domain on the server. The problem was fixed by adding a pointer in the Forward Lookup Zone; created www and gave it the IP address of the website.

All, For the private network connection on a cluster. I understand that it is possiable to either use a crossover cable or to use a hub/switch. Is there any advantage / disadvantage of using a crossover cable vs the hub/switch.

I recently have an employee who left and I don't know the password to their system. I can change it but only if I have the "old" one, no good to me, is there a way to reset the password, without having to make any modifications to the registry" something a little more simpler.

Just in dire need of a bit advice. I have a small network with a w2k server and 10 clients. I had to restart my server the other day and i ended up with a blue screen crash on the restart saying inaccessible boot device.

I took over a W2K network recently and there are four servers in this network two DC, one exchange, and one SQL. My question is, I saw two *orphaned DCs in the Active Directory and one orphaned Exchange in the Exchange System manager.
