I have one problem with Hyper-V. I create 1 virtual machine and successfully start it. Trying to connect to this machine VM Virtual Machine Manager stopped working and I get error:

Can anyone tell me why all 3 of my VM's are no longer listed under Remote View after adding them, running them and accessing them? They were all visible and I could configure them as needed, then a reboot and they are gone no longer listed after I login to the VS status page.

My physical and guest OS are Windows 2003 with Virtual server 2005, is it possible to add a virtual disk after the guest system is built and running? Or do I have to rebuild? thanks

Hi, all, I have a desktop, a Gateway Quad-Core machine with 6 GB of memory, and it came with Vista 64-bit installed. I do a ton of work with Visual Studio, SQL Server, BI stuff, etc.

I install a Vista SP1 OS in Hyper-V server. When I try to upgrade to SP2, it report cannot upgrade successfully. I try to install windows 7, but it fails also. Does hyper-V Server support those new OS(Such as Windows 7/Vista SP2)?

Looking at licensing for 2008 server I see the point below (bottom of post) Does the same apply for Hyper V Server? ie If I'm installing a windows 2003 virtual server on my hyper v server do clients who are accessing the 2003 server need 2008 CALS or are 2003 CALs ok in this ...

Using hyper v 2008 gui. I 've server vhd file that has a static ip address. After i shutdown, i perform a copy to another hyper-v harddisk. When i turn it on, the vhd's static ip disappear and boot up using dhcp address.

I want to put approximately 30 Windows server loads on a cluster of 3 hosts. That's about 8 Windows Enterprise licenses. If I can get 3 Datacenter licenses, that sounds like it could be a win, and I would have the right to add more instances for testing. But I'm not certain
