Hi - We have a W2K3 R2 Enterprise Edition server with a dual quad core Xeon and 16 GB ram running Virtual Server 2005 R2. It is running 5 Virtual Machines. Every so often one of the virtual machines, always the same one, will hang.

So we've done some testing and setup some VMs and are pretty happy with what we have seen so far. Now the Next step is to get better Drives and or SAN to support the VM Infrastructure. Are there any articles or other recommendations that someone can point me to

It seems to be difficult to find information about the access to tape peripherals in server virtual instance. Can we see DLT or DAT (connected with SCSI or SAS) in virtual instance of a server in order to use backup software (Arcserve or BE for example) ?
