| VS 2005 R2 guests and access from other subnets | 31 Jan 2006 15:05 GMT | 1 |
Is there something about VS that would cause this behavior: Install Win2K3 R2 as guest. Install IIS and set up some web sites. Clients on OTHER subnets can't access the web pages unless they have IE setup to use our proxy server (which is on the same subnet as the IIS server). ...

| Linux Differencing Disks | 31 Jan 2006 03:20 GMT | 5 |
Under Windows guests, I know the routine for creating differencing disk: make a base image, sysprep it, lock the disk, etc. Can someone point me to similar steps for Linux? Thanks.

| General Virtual Server 2005 Questions / Comments | 30 Jan 2006 20:19 GMT | 3 |
I am a big proponent of VMware ESX server. I am extremely happy with the stability of the host kernel, the kernels very low overhead, SMP support and the feature set of Virtual Center (i.e. VMotion). There is a learning curve involved in deploying VMware, but any tech savvy ...

| Virtual Machine can only see host, not network | 29 Jan 2006 17:08 GMT | 1 |
I have Virtual Server 2005 R2 running on WinXP for x64, AMD64 as the host. I am on a cable modem, with a LinkSys Wireless-G Broadband Router model WRT54GS. I have 2 PCs connected to the router by network cable (not wireless), and each PC can see the external network fine.

| Physical Floppy Drive Capture | 28 Jan 2006 08:04 GMT | 6 |
Okay, I have searched and searched on this. I have two identical machines each running 3 virtual servers <Virtual Server 2005 Standard>. For some reason, the Capture Physical Floppy drive is greyed out, so I am unable to capture a floppy drive. I checked all VM's and they are

| Dynamically attach host share to a virtual server | 28 Jan 2006 06:57 GMT | 2 |
I am trying to script a VM provisioning process. Assuming I have created my new VM, and I start it up, I want a script on the VM to run automatically (I can use scheduled tasks for this, and the script will be on the VM already ...) and

| scsi vs non scsi disk performance | 28 Jan 2006 04:33 GMT | 1 |
It has been said in virtual server group that emulated scsi is faster than non emulated scsi virtual disk on Virtual disk with VMadditions. I wonder if that applies to Virtual PC 2004 guests? Furthermore, what about a physical host of SATA Raid, what can be done to

| Virtual Server and 64 bit host and guests? | 28 Jan 2006 00:54 GMT | 9 |
I'm planning on runningVirtual Server Std R2 x64 on either 2003 Ent R2 x64 or XP Pro x64 running on a dual Xeon em64t (not Itanium). For the guests (or client OSs), must they all be 64 bit or can I mix and match and install a 32bit OS as a guest? Or I can't find anything on this, ...

| Does xp-pro come with a virtual machine already in dos? | 28 Jan 2006 00:09 GMT | 1 |
I might be nuts as none of the anti-virus software detects what I think I am seeing but I'm pretty sure some sort of worm has allowed a hacker to set up a virtual server in a hidden partition in dos. It runs the system as a service and has given the system the administrator ...

| Using the VMRC ActiveX Control | 27 Jan 2006 22:42 GMT | 1 |
I am exploring use of the VMRC ActiveX Control, I found it in the activex directory within WebSite (contained in a CAB file). I have been able to add this control to my own project but I can't find any documentation on how to configure and use it. Is this something that
