It appears VSMT requires Win2003 Enterprise Edition as the underlying platform when running the utility to migrate physical to virtual machines. Our problem: We do not have Enterprise edition on any of our servers.

I'm trying to migrate a physical server using VSMT. Each time I run the server_DeployVM.cmd, the process stops at the boot.ini copy step with the following error: ADS Controller did not recognize the variable Device.User.vVMScriptPath.

I have a virtual machine that was created that has a Dynamic disk, it states in the settings that the max size is 16GB and is currently expanded to 7.6GB, but it seems to now only have about 1.71 GB left which makes it around only 10GB

Has anyone ever used virtual servers to migrate physical servers to virtual servers? We are in a hardware crunch, and this seems to be the only way for me to start migrating our physical servers to virtuals. Basically, use our existing physical DHCP server, loading 2003 ...

I am at the point where I am running the Source_DeployVM.cmd script. I keep getting "No reply from server" on the VM during the RIS Disk boot. I have already applied the 875533 hotfix to ADS. The machine running ADS is running Windows 2003 SP1. The VM's OS will be NT 4 SP6a. I can

When I go to the Virtual Hard Disk Properties page, it does not show a link for "Add Disk" as the documentation suggests. I have successfully created a new virtual hard disk, but I don't see how to add it to my server.

I understand that it is possible to create a 2-node cluster using Virtual Server, but is it possible to have each node installed onto a serarate physical box? This would require a shared disk system, but could this be achieved by storing a .vhd on an iSCSI target or a FC shared ...

I have VS2005 running on Win2K3 Server and one virtual machine, but the checkbox to "Run virtual machine under the following user account" is disabled. The only two items enabled on the "General Properties" page are "Virtual machine name" and "Action when virtual server stops".

OK, so I worked my way 90% through getting the VSMT up and running. I'm trying to migrate a Dell PowerEdge 2400. I had to use the rbfg boot floppy, since the NIC doesn't support PXE, but that seemed to work fine. ADS is happy, and I was even able to grab an image of the server ...
