I am a newbie and am having a little problem with my Small Business
Server 2003. Basically the problem is that if I right click on my D
drive and check the properties. It tells me that my "Used Space" is
24.1GB but I only have 1 folder inside that drive called bizinfo and
upgrade / Migration to sbs200329 Feb 2004 16:00 GMT1
All documentation indicates I need to migrate to sbs2003.  My question is this, If I migrate to SBS2003 on a new (inxepenxsive server), once complete, can I then move (migrate?)it all back to the original server?
We only have about 20 users,  currently running SBS 4.5 on a HP ...

OK, just got a new potential client who needs a server set up for the

Server config: SBS4.5 with an HP C1533 DDS-2 DAT streamer connected through
an Adaptec 29160N SCSI controller.
Our server has started intermittantly reporting a controller error during
backups, actually it always seems to happen just as the Verify of the

My current router will only forward TCP so I can't get external access to my
server working.
Can anyone recommend a suitable (say 4 port) ADSL router. Wireless would be

The FVS318 is a combination SPI Firewall, 8-tunnel VPN, 8-port switch, and
DSL router that sells for $130. Seems too good to be true.

SBS4.5/Exchange5.5 to Windows2003/Exchange200327 Feb 2004 02:22 GMT4
I have been sketching out a migration plan, I wondered if anyone with a
similar experience could offer any thoughts on this plan.
I have SBS4.5/Exchange5.5.  It is the only server.  We will buy a new server
for win2k3 and retire the old one at the end of the migration.
IIS 6.0 not running on win 200326 Feb 2004 15:18 GMT2
upgraded to sbs2003 and IIS has not started since the upgrade. Exchange is
not running either. Users can browse network OK - no email however.
Looked in the exchange install log file on the c:/ drive and the last
entries say - IIS metabase corrupt.

just upgraded sbs2000 to sbs2003 and it hangs on startup at the startup
dialog box which reads

Hangs for about 4 - 6 hours and then it gets in to the desktop.

I currently have 3 SBS sales in the pipeline but all are waiting on some
sort of comparison between Novell and SBS 2003. The clients want to know
why SBS 2003 is better. Does anyone have a link that I can refer to ?
