Data packet flowing through SBS/Exchange08 Jul 2008 00:41 GMT2
I need to find out how much data size or number of emails do we have going
in and out of Exchange on our SBS server in order to get some statistic.
Is there a way to determine this or would I have to buy a 3rd party
software?
Autoupdate Blocked by ISA08 Jul 2008 00:09 GMT4
I have removed WSUS 3.1 from my SBS R1 Prem. system. I can access Windows
Update via IE with no problems, but Autoupdate is being blocked by ISA. The
existing ISA rule for IE to get updates works ok, but does not allow
Autoupdates from any computer inside the domain.
VSSAdmin list writers lists no writers07 Jul 2008 23:52 GMT10
I have followed
http://blogs.technet.com/asksbs/archive/2008/04/23/troubleshooting-vss-and-backu
p.aspx

I see no result when I run vssvc /register but all the others do give a
dialog box. Those registry keys are present.
Development SBS on Production Backbone07 Jul 2008 23:35 GMT5
I have installed a SBS R2 Prem Trial (SQL, single NIC no ISA) on a new box.
Initially we will be using it for some software development work our company
is having done.
I realize that we can't have two SBS servers on the same AD Domain.
Existing Server 2000 add SBS 2003-same domain or new?07 Jul 2008 21:20 GMT2
I have a simple one machine domain using Windows Server 2000. Exchange is not
currently being used (but will be in the sbs 2003). I have just purchased SBS
2003 preloaded from Dell on a new server and I want to add it so it is the
"main" machine for the company but would like to ...
Event Logs Gone Wild!07 Jul 2008 18:55 GMT6
My event log files are too big and I want to reduce them.
Currently Security is 212,000 items and Application is a 110,000 items.
Scrolling through these has become unmanagable.
MS says that they cannot be deleted but this is wrong, I just want some
XP SP3 - need to prevent WSUS install07 Jul 2008 17:43 GMT1
I have a site where some machines are failing to install XP SP3 as delivered
to them by WSUS.  They take hours on starting up, eventually fail, and (I
guess) roll back to SP2.
Is there a way of telling WSUS not to install XP SP3, at least until we can
SBS 2003 Prem R2 - Domain name issues with Windows Mobile and Exch07 Jul 2008 14:06 GMT10
We have SBS 2003 Prem R2, and it was set up last year, at the time the
company did not have a domain name or website.  Now the company does.  Our
president got a Windows Mobile device and I have not been able to get it to
connect to the MS Exchange 03 server.  Upon further ...
Secondary server?07 Jul 2008 13:50 GMT10
Hi --
1) Is it possible to set up one SBS2003 box as a secondary domain controller
to another SBS2003 box on the same domain and the same LAN?
2) Is it possible to set up Exchange on one SBS2003 box as a secondary mail
SideBySide Event ID 32 and 5907 Jul 2008 13:41 GMT5
I have recently did some software updates (from the MS SBS2003 update site)
on SBS2003 and the following errors appeared in the Server Performance Report

Allocated Memory alert(s) on SERVER07 Jul 2008 09:10 GMT3
We seem to be getting a large number of these alerts on many of our
clients servers.  From what i can understand it is primarily related
to Exchange and SQL services fighting for memory, or more relevant to
SQL instances using more memory than it should really require ie.
Verify and testing backups07 Jul 2008 07:45 GMT2
Currently we are using the standard backup that comes with SBS.
What is the best way to verify that it has worked. And to test recovery
recovery procedures?
Should I create a virtual SBS environment, and restore the backups to it?
monitoring and reporting07 Jul 2008 07:16 GMT2
We don't use exchange for email, ( I know we should but boss likes it the
way it is)
and I have set up the sharepoint alerts to use our SMTP server that we use
for email.  The sharepoint alerts work just fine.  I am wondering if the
