I am trying to install veritas 9.1 on SBS 2003, during the
install the software asks wether to create a new default
MSDE instance for bkexec or use the exsisting ones of
Sharepoint or SBSmonitoring

I was wondering if anyone had thoughts as to what type of device to sue for
back-ups. With DVD-RW coming down in price has anyone used this as a primary
back-up meathod for a SBS install or is everyone using some for of tape
technology?

Hi I am looking to setup a 2nd Mail domain on our SBS
server.
We have a new company moving in to our office and they
would like to share our mail server.

Looking at upgrading our network switch to a 1Gb switch.
Currrently have a 1G Fibre (sc) card in my server connected to a 3com 3900
100 meg switch (which has a 1G SC module fitted.
I now have a lot of 1G XP machines in use and the 100meg switch is a bottle

I'm using a VS80 DAT drive with 80Gb tapes
Veritas 9 backup exec.
Software Compression enabled, hardware compression enabled.
Yet it runs out of tape space at just under 56Gb..

I have setup a Windows 2003 member server on an sbs2000 network. I use a vpn
tunnel to connect and manage the SBS2000 server VIA RDP. When I try and use

Hmmmm... I though it was a PC problem, but it is now on all my XP PRO SP1
workstations
running behind ISA2000. Running SP2 on ISA2000, SBS2K box, SP4. Keep getting

Does XP Sp2 improve copying files to domain servers? Does it resolve the SMB
signing issue? I have the workaround in place but just wondered.

We are running a 2003 SBS network and also have a Windows 2003 Server
running an internal purchase order system.  To acces the page on any machine
within the network you type

I installed MS SQL server to our excisting SBS2K server. Performance became
poor as MS Sql takes all available resources.
To get some proxy server performance, I had to tune down on SQL memory
settings.
