I've seen people use the words, enumerate or enumeration, a lot in computer area.  What's this mean?  Can someone explain it to me, please?

I use Veritas Backup Exec to backup our Exchange Mailboxes. I am currently
selecting the mailboxes that I want backed up. Is this the best way to do
