I have an issue with Dtsearch - I have very large .pdf documents in
excess of 4000 pages that I am using Dtsearch to index. It seems

around the 4000 mark Dtsearch stops indexing and does not display any

We had a server crash and had to move the web site to a new server.
The new server is running Windows Server 2003 - IIS 6.0
I have created the Index Service Catalog and made sure the index service is
running, checked that the IUSR_xxx account has access the the catalog and the

I can't seem to find a topic that answers this question, I tried
stopping the service but that still brings up the properties as "read
only"...

Every day the indexing service catalog is empty when I get in, so I
just stop-restart it and off it goes, working until the next day. It
has worked for years... any ideas of what I can check on to see what
is causing this?

- Have a user upload a document to a web server.
- Stuff the document in a file system folder - eg: C:\ForIndexing.

I have a proprietary document format that I want to indexed using Index
Server. Is there any way to feed the index server catalog without creating
any IFilter (maybe from other application)? Does Index Server has some kind
of API that I can used for another program?

We are using Index Services on IIS6 and wish to report on the top search
terms. Is this possible without writing custom code to capture the terms
input by the users?
