I have created a custom column that I would like to use in the result
set that I am returning to the user.
In my .idq file I have added this section:

I have removed the numbers from my noise.enu file (using American English
locale).  I can get results for whole numbers and alpha-numeric words.  A
decimal number does not show up when I search for it.  Some of the decimal
numbers are currency so I tried with the dollar sign as ...

When I try to run a query on indexing service I do not get accurate results.
For example.
Say im trying to find a .pdf file with the following name....  abc1234.pdf
but I don't know the full file name..all I know is... abc123

Recently we noticed that the index catelog files (*.CI) used by the indexing
services located in the InetPub\Catalog.wci folder were huge. eg: 3GB!
what could have caused this to be so big? or is this normail?

I suspect that directory's size to be indexed (no matter about the
number of documents or files there are in) cannot be larger than 100 Gb
so if I get a lerger directory is better to split in two directories.

I run an intranet on Windows 2003 for a local Government organisation based
in Northamptonshire, England.
All of our PostCodes (equivalent to Zip Codes) are like 'NN1 2XY'.

if i search for a string containded (and I know it, the stringe is

In windows 2003 server sp1  I indexed 520.000 files, they are .pdf .doc
.txt .ppt.
The directory is about 220 gb
