One 'funky' catalog!27 Sep 2006 17:56 GMT2
This problem will surely tax the brains of all of the experts on this list.
We have had an Index Server Catalog running for three years on Windows 2000
SP4. It has slowly built up ober time to 600,000+ documents, all in a dated
folder scheme, like 2006/09/30  ie by year then by ...

Several questions, not found on http://www.indexserverfaq.com :
- Is it possible to know, for a specific folder and programmaticaly, the

How do you move the catalog?20 Sep 2006 12:40 GMT2
I'd like to move the catalog since I put it below the folder that's being
indexed. I read somewhere that's not a good idea and I'd like to move it
instead of creating another one from scratch.
Also, any optimization tips would be nice.

I have a web service interfacing with IS (Windows Server 2003) through

Getting Adobe iFilter working12 Sep 2006 03:24 GMT1
Our intranet used indexing service extensively. We'd set up a variety of
shared folders, people could drag-n-drop files into them, and then we had
some ASP code that would render a list of said documents in HTML.
This was set up years ago.
Help w/query tuning11 Sep 2006 16:03 GMT3
I'm trying to tune and refine my query building routine and having
trouble with something that should be really simple. I have 2 word
docs, one named flavors.doc and one named colors.doc. Inside both are
some appropriate words (colors and flavors). They both have the word
Abstracts not being returned for any document type11 Sep 2006 15:19 GMT4

I am using oledb provider for queries, including the characterization
excluding files/dirs from catalog using wildcards07 Sep 2006 00:31 GMT1
I've found that you can't use MMC for excluding wildcarded paths.
So I decided to add REG_SZ records under Scopes, such as:
*.jpg    ,,4
Is that right?
Index Server Companion - https problem?07 Sep 2006 00:29 GMT1
I've been using index server companion and really like it.
The problem is, when I use https for all my base urls in the ini file,
it can't find the robots.txt file and stops running. It seems so simple
but I don't know what to try.
