I tried diffrent Querry to get files in diffrent manner.
In on type where i was tring to search it in a manner that I get all files
between 2 dates and all i get an exception saying that Date format is not
matching with VT_FileTime..........Then i converted the Datetime value

I have a ASP.Net page that allows a search to be performed.  It works great
expect when the search text has a space in it.  When there is a space in the
text, I get:
Incorrect sytax near 'X'.  Expected '&', '\", ')', '|', '~', OR, AND, NEAR.

I set up a new Catalog that is linked to my site, and when I run the
query under "Manage my computer" Index Server I see 3 results (2 are
from "My documents", 1 from a web folder)
When I use oledb to connect, only the 1 from web server is returned.

Users keep reporting that searches against the IIS Catalog don't return

Every few weeks I have been deleting the catalog and doing a rescan.

we have a cluster with two nodes. They have the same software installed.
The sites replicate well from node 1 to node 2.
We have configured index server the same way in both servers. The catalogs
find the same number of files 47431 (most of all PDF's 32793).

I just setup Index server yesterday.  I used the example here as my guide:

When I query the existing "Web" catalog using the example asp.net
application, I get results I would expect.  When I query the catalog I

I login to my website using Windows authentication, but index server
doesn't return the files from the secure folder in the results.  If I
query the catalog from the MMC, the files show up, so I know they are
indexed, and everything (index, web, and files) is on one server.

I have created a search using asp and none of my shtml files are being
returned.  I am able to see everything else (html, asp, pdf).
Is there something I need to select in the preferences?  Or create some type
of filter?

I have a intranet server (using windows auth) and a file server that I
want indexed.  Should I have the intranet server index the file server?
I don't think the file permissions stay intact with this option.  Should
the file server index itself?  Can the intranet server ...

The cisvc.exe is started under services.
the check box for "Index Service" is checked under add/remove programs.
