I'm new to indexing service SDK. I'm using C++ to develop application for searching a special type of files, which are encrypted (byte by byte encription). Is it possible to search this kind of files? BTW, since I make it encrypted, so I know the encryption methodology.

Just wondering what kind of tipe can be searched with MS indexing service? I know *.doc, *.txt, *.xls, *.pdf.. but don't know if I want to make a new type of file searchable , say *.xyz What should I do? should this file in a special format?

I removed a few noise words from noise.enu, and just for luck, from noise.dat, but we still seem to get errors when we search by using the deleted words. Once the files are updated, is there soemthing that I need to do like rescan the directories, restart the service?

If a file (tipically a zip) is password protected it is impossible to index it.... and that's fine! but is it possible to "detect" that a file was impossible to be indexed? Our aim is to send a message to an admin so he can manage the problem.
