I'm interested in Index Server but all the searches I've
done on this on the Microsoft site lead back to a Windows
NT enviroment, can Index Server be implemented on a
Windows 2003 IIS 6 evironment?

Is it possible to configure the Word/Office IFilter, so that it
indexes Word Files not by file extension, but by Document type?
I didn´t find an answer for this question, so i would be very pleased
if anyone could help me :/ ..

Is there a way in the properties page of a catalogue\directory\registry to

I am in the process of implementing search using Index Server on Windows 2003
server.  The problem I am having is with wildcard searches.  If I type in

I setup a Hit highlighting search using NT 4.0 sometime ago and copied those
files over to my Windows 2003 server. I thought I made the proper changes in
the .Idq and the .htx however I either get no documents returned or too many.

I discovered the existence of this "Index Service" just two days ago.  I
don't have much experience running IIS and I sort of "inherited" a box here
at my day-job.

Indexing server running on Win2k3. All files are pdf -- almost 1
million in the archive.  Adobe iFilter is installed and working.  ASP
front end for searching.  Code is below.  I'm not much of an ASP
programmer, so any help someone could provide would be appreciated.

If not, does index server maintain its settings in the registry or text
based file (ini, xml, etc) which I can access programatically?
