How do I enable index server to perform fuzzy queries. If I search for Texas it will return all results. If I search for Tex* it returns 0. Help!

We're using idq/htx, and fuzzy $. However, the results don't seem to change when we use booleans or quotation marks. We're using $all for all searches. Is that what we should be using?
