I installed WSUS on an idle win2k domain controller and for some reason I can
access the WSUS amin console using any authenticated domain user account
without being prompted for a user name and password, if I use Internet
Explorer.

Windows 2008 Server x64
ASP .NET 2.0
Application pool is running under a domain account with appropriate HTTP
SPNs registered.  Kernel-mode Windows authentication enabled.

I have a question about IIS certificate chain. How to make IIS server to
send all certificate, including root CA cert, in TLS/SSL Server hello message
to client ? What I am seeing is thet IIS server presents all certificate in
the chain except root CA cert.

Some years ago , I set  up an  Internal server on my domain as a CA. It will
be expiring soon and I need to renew the certificate. The CA is  used for ,
OWA, Live  Communication Server (LCS) , RPC over HTTP , and some users seems  
to be using EFS.

I am trying to modify a site that is using FormAuthentication, to
handle Integrated Authentication exclusively.
I have both ASP and ASP.net code: global.asa, authorisation.asp,
Target.aspx, login.aspx(for just FormAut..).

I want to change the application pool identity from default "Network
Service" to IUSR using IIS manager. After closing the "Application Pool
Defaults" dialog, I get error:

Server was working with no issues and hadn't had any updates in a few weeks
of any kind.  Last saturdery our web site was not accessible due to anonymous
access prompting for credentials and then showing 401.3 acl issues when you
clicked out of the window.

Can someone help me or explain to me how to configure IIS so users to
login to my website using standard Visual Studio 2008 Login / Login
View Controls?
Here is the scenerio:

I am trying to deploy an asp.net application on IIS 6 and when i try  to
access any of the pages using the "localhost"
then it works, when i try to use the IP address of the computer, then I am
getting an ACL error saying that "you are not authorized to view this

I just installed an SSL Cert issued  by Thawte to a web site in IIS, which
was created by SharePoint.
For some reason, I can get to this via http, but get: (INVALID HOSTNAME) in

I've tired fighting with one strange problem. I have a virtual
catalog. When authentication methods for this catalog are set either
basic or integrated, I can open any ASP script. In case of basic
authentication it asks for my credentials, in case of integrated it

Is this still an issue with IIS 7.0?
I've seen the doc on how to disable them using the registry but when I go to
the reg key on a default install of IIS 7 on Win 2k8, I don't see subkeys
that the artilce says should be there.
