I have a site that I used to have on a Linux machine. When my page URL's
changed I would just update the .htaccess file to reflect that and then
people would be re-directed to the proper pages.

I've built a new w2k3/iis6 server to be migrated to from our w2k/iis5
production web server.  Currently the w2k3 server has asp.net 1.4 (from
add/remove programs) and asp.net 2.0 (fom the windows site) installed.  I
don't think asp.net was used much if at all on the w2k server.  ...

I'm running a win2003 server w/iis6, connecting to unc shares across a novell
network. I've had it working fine on this box before but after some changes i
now get 'The network name cannot be found.' when i try to pull a file from
the unc share although i can browse the files ...

I just intalled w2k3/iis6 and enabled ASP and ASP.NET extensions, but
viewing the default site doesn't work.  When trying to view iisstart.htm it
says "Under Construction: The site you are trying to view does not currently

I'm trying to solve a problem with one of our IIS servers.
The ASP engine hangs a few times a day. There is no logical order. HTML
pages are still processed.

The DebugDiag report below sows thread 26 waiting on what appears to be an
orphaned lock, and the lock is shown as being owned by thread 10.  We've see
this type of thing a lot in our last two weeks of testing, but have no idea

This seems to be an IIS issue.
If I go to http://localhost it takes forever for a regular htm page to load
or it times out. If I time out, and I hit refresh it works.
If I go to ftp://localhost it works perfectly.

I am attempting to upgrade my OS from XP Home SP2 to XP Professional SP2 and
I am not able to run the setup.  I have a brand new Sony Vaio notebook that
came directly from Sony with Windows XP Home SP2 loaded.  I also have an MSDN

local session to IIS and I don't have any trace of remote session
any idea why

Here is my problem:
I sucessfully installed IIS 5.1 on my XP PRO laptop  Default Web Site and
default options  and I tried to test by usual test: http://localhost.
- IE 6.0 & Avant Browser have returned the well known message Page not found
