By default it goes to our root ftp which contains a folder for each of our
clients. Clients can only get into the folder they have acces to but we
don't want them to be able to see any of the subfolders.  How do we make it
so ftp goes right to their folder or so they can only see ...

Ok, here is my setup.
-Linksys cable modem and a Linksys router.
-I have 2 pc's connected to the modem sharing the cable connection.

I'm using Windows Server 2003 with IIS6.0
I created users and FTP accounts for them through Virtual Directory. My
problem is that the user is not able to see any other folders in the root
besides the one that is in their Virtual Directory. And I have given all

I have a standalone server running a FTP site that is connected to the
optional port on my firewall - running user isolation etc..
All works great for the external customers coming in - each only has

I had a problem downloading files from an ftp site that had a virtual
directory that was an NTFS compressed folder.
I could download small files or  have a short download sessions but when
downloading large files or have a long download session the download suddenly

The name of the physical directory changes but the name of the virtual

In IIS Manager (the GUI), you can use UNC names and provide a
username/password to "Connect As". However, the iisftp.vbs doesn't seem to
support this functionality.

I have been experimenting with setup of isolated users on IIS6 with
Windows Server 2003 SP2, and I ran into an issue I don't understand.
I have these 3 local users on the computer: Larry, Curly and Moe.
Within C:\Inetpub\ftproot\LocalUser I have directories called Larry,
