I think I have misunderstood sth about anonymous logons to FTP
Not wanting to use this option which sounds insecure, I created a special
user and gave him access to the FTP default folder with a password.
When I use this account to log on to my FTP server from my own computer

I'm still trying to set up my FTP server.
I was accessing it using my administrators account and I noticed that I
could go open up any file on my computer which I felt was risky.
So I created a new limited account and 'attributed'  it to the root default

I am running an ftp server and many different websites on my Windows 2000
SP4 IIS server.  These many websites contains lots of virtual directories
that have the execute permission set.

I must be stupid or sth but in spite of reading loads of bumph, I can't work
out how to access ftp with a named account
When I configure FTP to not allow 'anonymous' access, how do I set up named
accounts with a password instead

 In ServU FTP's Dir Access tab,there is an "Execute"
option item.The help file says that it is meant for
executing files through FTP, i.e. for running DOS and
Windows programs remotely.

I Can login and display ftp site\Folder over LAN using ftp://Server_Name.
Cannot get to site using IE with any combination of settings for passive and
folder view settings.

For unrecognized reason my ftp service automatically stop once every day

Is there a way I can change home directory for different users logging into

I have some clients that need to send me large files (10-100mb).  Obviously
email doesn't work for this.  I'm getting pressure to setup a ftp site that
clients with the appropriate password can post files.  Is this my only
option or do I have other options for transferring large ...

Can someone tell my why users can't FTP when the Administrator is logged off
the server? This is a Windows 2000 server.
