Is there a way to set permissions in such a way as allow ftp access to
folders beneath the FTP root without allowing access to the root.
example:

I have attempted setting up FTP, both third party and IIS FTP,  with this

On a W2k server, SP4, I first attmepted to setup a third party FTP server.
It worked fine until I  rebooted the server. After that  FTP connection

I want to direct my clients how to download with ftp utility (in command
line mode). I want them to use ftp with one single line - including all the
parameters like Username and Password. I saw in the help that its usually
done with a text file and -s flag.

I am trying to get a grip on Windows 2000, firewalls and ftp. My
understanding is the only way ftp will work is the client needs to set their

I have setup an ftp site with user isolation. I have the following
